For my birthday, we went to a Thai restaurant just the other side of the lake from downtown. Here's the view crossing a bridge from Norreport station.
A morning view out the window of our residence, down Finsensvej
The little street cleaner for the bike lane.
A small, cute neighborhood just west of where we lived
Cool color combination...
I imagine this is a typical Danish suburban house?
Next, moving on to where Bruce had his classes...
Dalgas Have from the outside...
Pink atrium in Dalgas.
But here's proof that Dalgas isn't entirely pepto pink.
On the main CBS campus, the "computer chip" building (officially called Kilen)
Lastly, I want to include one of the daily walks from a local grocery store, to show pictures of the neighborhood in general where we lived.
A little alley off of Finsensvej (street where we lived, and where we walked to the store)
Looking down the street... note that cars park on the inside of the bike lane. (Those cars are indeed stopped/parked)
I was in too much of a rush to find the small, obscure pornographic mural above a building on our side of the street. I'll have to ask Erin for her picture...
The major side street on the route (Dalgas Boulevard)
Hey, it's a Mercedes A-class!
A smaller grocery at the end of our building. (Lidl is a German company, and we have found them in Hungary, too!)
And lastly... back to the residence.
Our last glimpse of our neighborhood, the Metro pulling away from the Flintholm station platform...
Finally... being a student in Copenhagen was a challenging situation (I wasn't the student, but I lived the lifestyle). Having an American student budget while living in the most expensive EU country is rather depressing... hearing it before you go is one thing, and seeing the prices when actually there is another. I'd heard to double prices that I was used to; that's what I was prepared for. Many bath/toiletries items, I had to multiply cost by 4-10... Food was much the same way, though there was more leeway with choice. I am feeling very poor now...
In any case, never fear -- I have a few more cities coming up over the next few days!
