legoland! (billund, dk)

We also went on a trip to Legoland... much more than a kid's park, more like a museum with all sorts of things built all out of Lego blocks. The attention to detail is amazing. We have a LOT of photos...

Here's Bruce's favorite -- the Lego airport.

Amalienborg Palace (queen's residence in CPH) -- yes, the detail not only in the palace, in the sculpture in the middle, but also in the bonsai!

Ahh, something familiar -- complete with tourists! :)

Lego thatched roof!

Twenty-nine years ago, this is the variety of car that Bruce drove to get his Lego "drivers' license". :D

If you look closely, notice that even the fountains are made out of Legos.

This one speaks for itself...

Dusseldorf, Germany

Lego Buddha...

View overlooking the whole park from one of the rides.

Kennedy Space Center. Another detail moment: there was a motorized bus driving around the base of the structure, and piped out of the bus -- an English, American accented tour guide recording!

Lego buzzard in the non-Lego tree...

Amsterdam, complete with working drawbridge.

Amsterdam again -- but I had to show the people selling flowers at the foot of the building. :)

The obligatory Scottish castle shot for my mom.

Bergen, Norway -- with cruise ships and their tourists.

Bergen again -- this time, a building and cafe shot.

That's about all the Legoland shots I'll post -- I do have a lot more, which I can email out on request. The park was about a 3 hour bus ride from Copenhagen, and we took some pictures along the way as proof that the Danish countryside is... rather dull and boring. So -- following are some pictures of Denmark. You be the judge.

(oh, but with this picture, you get a Danish mountain! the highest point in the country is 170 m.)

Approaching a bridge...

However, we got to pass (ha! pun intended!!) Middelfart, which had some of us clamoring for windows to take pictures. Sometimes, you just have to channel your inner 12 year old.
